Magnolia grandiflora 

May 30, 2022

President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden planted a southern magnolia tree near the South Portico on May 30, 2022, as part of a Memorial Day ceremony. The tree was planted with Gold Star family members in attendance to commemorate U.S. service members who lost their lives in service to our Nation.
