Take the first exit off Route 3 south - exit 42. Follow signs toward Quincy Center. Continue straight on Burgin Parkway through seven traffic lights. At the eighth traffic light, turn right onto Dimmock Street. After one block, turn right onto Hancock Street. The National Park Service Visitor Center, located at 1250 Hancock Street, is on your left. Validated parking is in the Presidents Place garage, 44 Saville Avenue. Be prepared for hot, humid weather. The historic homes are not air conditioned. While the visitor center remains open all year, the historic homes are generally closed from approximately November 1 through April 30. The thirteen-acre park comprises the Adams Farm at Penn’s Hill (the John Adams and John Quincy Adams Birthplaces), the Old House at Peace field, and the Stone Library. The park’s visitor center is located in Quincy Center and sits halfway between the Adams Farm at Penn’s Hill and the Old House at Peace field. You can reserve a tour for the Old House at Peace field and Stone Library, join us for a self-guided visit at the Adams Farm at Penn’s Hill, or reserve an extended full park tour of all of these locations for a longer Adams experience. Entrance passes are required to enter the park’s historic buildings and are separate from tour reservations. Tours can be reserved online in advance at recreation.gov or in-person on the day of your visit at the park’s visitor center. |
