![]() Chisos Mountains LodgeThe Chisos Mountains Lodge, operated by Aramark, is nestled within the Chisos Basin at 5,400 feet elevation. The lodge offers a variety of rooms and cottages, plus a gift shop, camper store, and dining room. The lodge is open year-round, and is the only lodging available within Big Bend National Park.
Chisos Basin Improvement Projects The National Park Service is working on two renovation projects in the Chisos Basin that are scheduled to begin July 2025 and will continue for approximately two years. Big Bend National Park will remain open throughout this project. Only the Chisos Basin area of the park will be affected starting in July, 2025. The lodge will continue to take reservations with limited availability through June 11, 2025. The Basin Store and Chisos Mountains Lodge Restaurant will remain open through June 12, 2025. Chisos Mountains Lodge will close after lunch hours on June 12, 2025. During the temporary closure of Chisos Mountains Lodge starting June 12th, we invite park visitors to stay and experience the newly remodeled Big Bend Station near the park entrance and the town of Terlingua.

Pardon Our Dust!Work on two large construction projects in the Chisos Basin will begin in late Summer 2025 and continue for approximately two years. Disruptions in visitor access to the Chisos Basin area of the park are expected. Stay tuned as construction timelines are finalized and the NPS determines allowable visitor access to the Basin during construction.
