Lake Fork

The webcam is not operational at this time. A weekly photo update will be posted until the ramp opens.
 

Campgrounds

All campgrounds except Elk Creek Campground are closed until further notice.

  • Open: Elk Creek (Loop A & D year-round), Gateview (may be inaccessible due to snow)
  • Closed: Lake Fork, Cimarron, Dry Gulch, East Elk Creek, East Portal, Ponderosa, Red Creek, Stevens Creek

Watercraft Inspection Stations

  • Elk Creek: Closed until Spring 2025. Thick ice remains at the boat ramp.
  • Lake Fork: Closed until Spring 2025. Thick ice remains at the boat ramp.
  • Iola: Closed until Spring 2025.
  • No watercraft inspections are available at Ponderosa or Stevens Creek boat ramps. Hand-launched craft only at those locations.

Trails

All hiking trails are open. Traction devices and/or trekking poles recommended during spring. Trails may be icy, snowy, or muddy. Leashed dogs are pemitted on all trails.

Climbing Closures

Check annual climbing closures for protection of nesting raptors. These closures are effective March 15 to July 15.

There are no active fire restrictions at this time.

Reservoir Water Levels

Water is a scarce, critical, and dwindling resource in the West. In addition to supporting recreational activities in Curecanti, water provides power to millions of homes and is essential for our communities, for wildlife, and agriculture.

Reservoir water levels in Curecanti are maintained by the Bureau of Reclamation. Check each of the reservoir links for current levels.
