Fort Scott NHS is open and free of charge every day. Its Visitor Center and buildings are closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. See the "Opperating Hours & Seasons" section for specific days and times. Throughout the year, visitors can view an 1840s military fort and connect with the lives of the soldiers, laundresses, sutler, surgeon, and others who strived to create a semblance of home at a frontier military post. |
