  • This is an early morning bus with service from 3 locations in Grand Canyon Village to South Kaibab Trailhead
  • The shuttle is one-way and does not return hikers from South Kaibab Trailhead to the village.

Hikers' Express - Leaves Bright Angel Lodge at:

6:00 am, 7:00 am 8:00 am in March
6:00 am, 7:00 am 8:00 am in April
6:00 am, 7:00 am 8:00 am in May

(Note: the schedule for summer and fall has not been finalized)
5:00 am, 6:00 am during summer 2025

Another morning option is to park in one of the 4 lots around the Visitor Center Plaza and ride the Eastbound Kaibab Rim (Orange) Route bus directly from the Visitor Center Shuttle Bus Terminal, to South Kaibab Trailhead. The first bus leaves the Visitor Center at 6:00 am.

 

Spring 2025 — South Rim Shuttle Route Map

This spring, three shuttle bus routes are in service from March 1, through May 23. Kaibab Rim (Orange) Route, shown on the right, transports visitors to S. Kaibab Trailhead, outstanding scenic views at Yaki Point, and Yavapai Geology Museum. Village (Blue) Route, in the center, connects the Visitor Center with lodges, campgrounds, Backcountry Information Center, and Market Plaza (general store and post office). Hermits Rest (Red) Route follows a scenic road for exceptional scenic views.
