History & Culture

Jimmy Carter National Historical Park tells the story of the 39th president of the United States, from his humble beginnings in rural Georgia to his leadership on the world stage. Born and raised in the small town of Plains, Carter’s early years on the family farm shaped his values of hard work, service, and integrity—principles that guided him through his time as a naval officer, businessman, governor, and eventually, President of the United States.
