Museum and Visitor Center

ATTENTION: The Monocacy National Battlefield Museum is currently closed for renovation and is expected to reopen sometime in Spring 2025.

The Visitor Center and museum are fully accessible with an elevator and automated (low energy) doors.

A variety of written information is available in the Visitor Center, additionally the projected battle map program is captioned.

Brochure

The printed park brochure is available at the Visitor Center. An audio described version [12.4 MB MP3] of the park brochure is available for download. These MP3-formatted files can be downloaded to your favorite MP3 player or computer; listen online or bring it with you to the park. Full text of the audio described brochure is also available.

Self-Guided Auto Tour

A free park map and guide is available at the Visitor Center. Touring is done in your own vehicle. Wayside exhibit plaques and exhibits along the tour route are designed to be mobility friendly and accessible.

Explore the history of the Battle of Monocacy by watching the virtual tour videos or downloading our audio tour, which follows the auto tour route. The audio tour MP3-formatted files can be downloaded to your favorite MP3 player or computer; listen online or bring it with you to the park.

Walking Trails

A portion of the half-mile Gambrill Mill Trail (Auto Tour Stop 5) is wheelchair accessible. The trail provides scenic views of the Monocacy River and has several interpretive waysides.
