Bald Hills Road Open/ Hazard Conditions Upper Elevations/Near Elk Camp Road Damage Drive slowly and be alert for road damage. Watch for cars crossing lanes to avoid hazards.

Newton B. Drury Scenic Parkway Open The Newton B. Drury Scenic Parkway is closed to vehicles on the first Saturday of each month from October to May for Hike and Bike Day. The parkway closes on the evening before the event and reopens Sunday afternoon.
Cal-Barrel Road Open A very narrow, single lane road with many pedestrians and their pets. A good spot for walking with your leashed pets.

Practice caution if you drive in this area. Smaller vehicles are recommended on this road.

Mill Creek Day Use Area Partial Closure Weekdays Open to public on the weekends for day use. Gate will be locked each evening.
A section of the multi-use trail along West Branch Road, west of Rock Creek Road, is closed temporarily due to a failed bridge crossing.

Karl Knapp (Prairie Creek) Trail Closed October 7-31 The closure starts from the trailhead in front of Prairie Creek Visitor Center and extends to the first junction heading north. Closed for maintenance and bridge repair Due to the closure, visitors interested in hiking the West Ridge Trail, James Irvine Trail, or the Nature trail will need to follow a trail detour. Visitors can:
  • Hike Foothill trail north from Prairie Creek Visitor Center to the Karl Knapp trailhead on Newton B. Drury Parkway (Karl Knapp -Foothill crossing)
  • Park their vehicle at the pull out along mile marker 129.61 on Newton B. Drury Parkway
Alder Basin Trail Closed Closed for Redwoods Rising restoration work.
Tall Trees Trail Open Reservation required if driving to trailhead.
Dolason Prairie Trail Partially Open Until further notice Only the first 2 miles of this trail are open. Downed trees Accessing Redwood Creek, Emerald Ridge Trail, and the Tall Trees Trail is not an option due to downed trees. Emerald Bridge out indefinitely due to tree collapse.

Lost Man Creek Trail Open Large tree across trail approx. 1 mile in from trailhead.
Fern Canyon Open Seasonal footbridges are installed. Expect to hike through water (ankle-knee deep).
Reservation required if you are driving to trailhead (May 15 - Sept. 15).
Rhododendron Trail Open
Coastal Trail Partially Open October 9-23 The Klamath Section of the Coastal Trail is closed from its northern intersection with the Yurok Loop Trail, eastbound to the trail intersection leading to Lagoon Creek Parking and Wilson beach. Severe trail erosion and major maintenance required. The Yurok Loop Trial will still be accessible from the south via the Hidden Beach Trail
