Tolowa Renewal Dance Demonstration

Experience the rich cultural traditions of the Tolowa and Yurok peoples through live dance demonstrations held in and around Redwood National and State Parks. These performances provide a rare opportunity to witness traditional dances that have been passed down through generations, reflecting the deep spiritual and cultural connections between Native communities and the land.

Each July, the Tolowa community hosts a Renewal Dance demonstration at the Jedediah Smith Campground day-use area, located off Highway 199, just west of Hiouchi. This special event serves as both a cultural gathering and an opportunity to share traditions with the broader public.
