The Crown of the Continent Research Learning Center (CCRLC) provides a variety of opportunities to learn about research, history, and resource issues happening within Glacier and Waterton Lakes National Parks. Not all events are offered each year - check back here for the most recent updates.

Noxious Weed Blitz

In 2010, Glacier National Park's Citizen Science Program began partnering with Glacier's Invasive Plant Program to put on an annual noxious weed blitz. Participants spend the morning learning about targeted invasive plant species, share lunch, then head out to do some pulling!
The 2025 Weed Blitz is at capacity! For more information, email us here.

Waterton-Glacier Science & History Day

From 2003-2021, Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park held a summer Science & History Day event. This featured presentations highlighting science and history across both parks and alternated locations between the U.S. and Canadian sides of the border.
Science & History Day is not scheduled for 2025.

Hawk Watch Open House

Park biologists will teach volunteers how to identify and count migrating raptors. Educators from Montana Wild Wings Recovery Center will also be on site with live raptors to provide close-up looks at some of the raptor species that migrate past Mount Brown.
The 2025 Hawk Watch Open House is scheduled for October 4 at Lake McDonald Lodge from 11am-3pm.

Brown Bag Presentations

Throughout the summer, the CCRLC may offer lunchtime 'brown bag' presentations on current research, resource topics, and history to park staff and the public. The CCRLC typically hosts brown bag presentations from April through October at the West Glacier Community Building. See Glacier's online event calendar for updated information.

Glacier Science Videos

The "Glacier Science Video Series" focus on different natural & cultural resources around the park, with topics ranging from bird banding to historic architecture. Follow Glacier National Park's social media channels for the most recent videos.
