Volunteer Opportunities

Winter Eagle Watch Volunteer

Volunteer as an Eagle Watch volunteer during the winter eagle monitoring season on weekends in January and February. Collect data on wintering eagles and resident pairs while educating the public on “Eagle Etiquette” and best practices for watching eagles. Volunteers can also take additional training to assist with staffing monitoring eagle nests, conduct educational workshops, and participate in events.

Visitor Center Volunteer

Assist during the winter eagle-watching season at the Zane Grey Museum in Lackawaxen, Pennsylvania as a visitor center volunteer. Volunteers educate visitors about the visiting eagles and direct visitors to the best eagle-viewing areas.

For more information about additional volunteer opportunities or to sign up to volunteer with the Delaware Highlands Conservancy, please contact the Conservancy at 570-226-3164 or send an email to volunteer@delawarehighlands.org. Interested volunteers can also directly sign up for active positions on volunteer.gov and searching for "upper delaware."
