The WNPA Bookstore as well as the Gila National Forest district offices sell both the Gila Day Hiking map (area immediately around the Gila Cliff Dwellings) and the Gila Wilderness map. For the Gila National Forest Map and Aldo Leopold Wilderness Map purchase at any of the Gila National Forest offices. Check the weather before dayhiking. Monsoon season can cause flashflooding in canyons. Winter can bring sub freezing temperatures and ice. Please note that the hikes listed below may not be near the Gila Cliff Dwellings as this list is meant to show popular day hikes throughout the Gila National Forest, Gila Wilderness and the Aldo Leopold Wilderness.
