The wooded slopes of Seminary Ridge, extending to Warfield Ridge, stretch for over two miles south of Gettysburg and sit opposite from Cemetery Ridge. This position was occupied by Confederate soldiers of Robert E. Lee’s Army of Northern Virginia. This high ground was a jumping off point for Confederate attacks on July 2 and 3.
